I love St Emilion Grand Cru as an appelation but this one is really a bit of a mixed bag. Nice aromas and taste but not very balanced and thin mouth feel. This has all what you will come to expect from the region with solid notes of vanilla cassis and tobacco blackcurrant cherry with a leather finish. However the thinness and lack of complexity results in a 3.7/8.7
My first suggestion is let it decant and open up for one hour.

Apr 17th, 2020Merlot/cabinet franc blend. Decanted and left for an hour and it settled nicely. 2014 vintage was smooth, fruit forward but balanced. Great drop for the price
