Maui Blanc Pineapple Wine

Strange drink, hard to refer as a wine as it’s made from Golden Pineapples, not Grapes! Had a taste of this on a recent trip to Hawaii. No real comment other that it’s not for me as I would pass. If I was drinking something local, Maui Brewing Co. has some tasty brews!! Tasting Sample.

I hate saying a wine sucks, so I'm going to look at the positives here. You're going to want to pair this with something super salty. And I mean really really salty. From a wine blending perspective, there is probably a blending partner that may work here like an off-year semillon to add some structure. As it stands though, you can't drink too much of this stuff...

Possible sangria potential?

So. This wine has a time and a place. The first sip is shocking. I think it has a fun fruity finish. It should be consumed cold, in summer. I’m kind of into it as it bring me back to Hawaii, but not my favorite thing.

Fruity and tropical, surprisingly not sweet.

I'm considering returning to the store.
