This wine was recommended to me and at under $20 a bottle I obliged. The nose is a fascinating blend of smoked meat, plums, raisins, tire rubber, figs and a bit of dark earth. The palette, although not as alluring as the nose, features red and black fruit, supple black earth with a hint of smoke, and silky smooth tannins. The finish is a bit fleeting, though, but does end in a bit of sweet oak. An interesting blend of mostly Carignane and old vine Zin, but also some grapes I've never heard of (Black Malvasia?) - a nice Mendocino red.

Aug 4th, 2015Tasty, interesting wine with a great field blend of Carignane, Zin, Petite Sirah, Mataro and more. Nice change of pace and does nothing to dispel the fact that Mendocino is trending now!

Feb 7th, 2015This was a really nice, drinkable wine that went well with a variety of appetizers, such as olives and cheese, and bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese (yum!) . It was smooth and rich on the palette.
