4 hour decant and this big boy was still closed down. What little it revealed hinted at the monster wine this will become. Still very primary extracted black fruit, pencil shavings, camphor, mammoth tannins with fresh acid. Desperately needs time to open up.

2010 Vintage. I took a Pax 2004 Lauterbach to poker night and my wife found this to share with her girlfriend. They loved it...

Deserves a little time to open up for best enjoyment (in my opinion). The tannins are more present with time, fruit-forwardness burns off and the structure is more appreciated.
