My first experience with Top’s reds (their rosé is really fantastic).

I had a glass at pop, and then decanted 2-3hrs. Being a young Paso Syrah, I expected a massive fruit bomb, yet experienced a very unique profile more reminiscent of cool climate Syrah. Deep red/purple in the glass. Aromatics of ripe red and black fruits, dark roasted coffee beans, slight savory/funky gaminess. Not sure if there is, but drinks like there is a bit of whole cluster in play (which I don’t normally identify in most Paso Syrahs). The dark underripe, savory, slightly funky profile reminds me of cool climate Syrah with an added flair of richness (definitely not overly so). Dark floral notes, herbs, and a rollercoaster of fruit…sometimes it’s sweet and at the forefront and other times it takes a backseat to give complexity. Juicy tannins that become fine grained. Quite enjoyable now with air, but likely improves over the next few years. Nice!

This wine is fantastic! I drank this a few nights back and thought it appropriate since our treetops were indeed spinning like a top..90 mph winds in Iowa! Showing dark berries, chocolate, violets, velvety smooth!

Blown away by how good this was. 2 hour decant required, then it was singing. More of an old world feel to it now versus the last bottle I had. Just great.

My last 16 before the 17’s arrive. More funk than I remembered, great Paso Syrah

Waited 7 months to try it again and was rewarded. Fantastic wine that has a long life ahead of it but is approachable now after a 1 hour decant.
