Tobin James
James Gang Reserve Paso Robles Primitivo
Paso Robles, Central Coast, California, USA
Tobin James 2013 Primitivo. Missing that Old World characteristic, but great hot fruit. Blackberry, rich vanilla, the color is intense. Would be interested at 15.6% how it would lay up.

Dec 8th, 2020Sweet, dark, and rich. Blackberry, vanilla, cherry. My wife said it was sweet goodness and it got her tipsy.

Nov 16th, 2020Fantastic as a table wine -- equally good first, second and third days. Doesn't change a ton with more time/O-2 but does mellow a little each day.
Summer Fruits, black pepper, bit of coffee... smooth-ish; more structure than expected for the price.
Fairly long finish tapers off to a whiff of smoke with hints of vanilla-fire
