Very young at the mo but already incredibly expressive and animated with an hour or two in glass/decanter. Opens up with a wonderful mix of wood spice, heather, lavender, coffee grounds, hickory, wet bark, but also an attractive blueberry skin, blueberry muffin/pie richness and a perfumed violet infused soap high note (in a good way). There are also background notes of miso and stewed porcini mushrooms, plenty of umami action along with some smoky bacon notes. Already showing admirable aromatic complexity.
The palate lacks the complexity of the nose at the moment though there’s plenty of sinewy tannin and vibrant acidity with that ripe blueberry fruit and earthy wood spice showing on a decent finish, still needs a few years to shine but on this first taste it’s incredibly promising.
