I should probably start by saying I just drank this entire bottle of wine. Yes, 1/2 a cup was used for cooking, but I polished off the rest. This is not your new world, tropical fruit bomb Sauvignon Blanc, but a more subdued version that speaks off its old world roots. The ever glossed over cat pee is there (I can't think of the more PC term I'm supposed to use as a server - did I mention I drank the whole bottle?), but you've also got grass, hay and mineral notes on the nose. The palette displays excellent acidity, reflecting similar notes from the nose (no, you don't taste cat pee). This was an exceptional value at around $6 on sale; I'm a bit more of a fan of a new world SB, but this was quite enjoyable (I mean, I did drink the whole bottle).
