Off dry not very sweet. Deep ruby. Dark raisins, prune, fig, also fresh dark plums, cherry jam, stewed blackberry. Red cranberry syrup on chocolate too. Ash, tomato leaf, blood, iron, iodine, clove. High acid, high grippy chalky tannins coating upper gum line.

Wow. Absolutely stunning. I recommend letting it aerate for a day; this really needs to open. Having said that, I probably won’t open my other bottles before 5 years. A hint of sweetness on the nose but mostly blackberry, boysenberry and earthiness on my palate. Yum 😋

Funky, missy fruit on nose. Thinner spice but: hot on palate. Balanced blend. Savory: dried herb, black pepper, dried fig. Fruit not necessarily center stage. Heavy, structured.
