Stift Klosterneuburg
St. Laurent
Tasted January 2014
Deep ruby to dark garnet, St. Laurent Ausstich is "selection of the best barrels of the vintage". Smoked cherries, herbs and forest berries dominate on the bouquet. Palate is juicy, with chokeberries and soft wooden tartness, slightly straight. Sour cherry and oak hints on meduim length finish. Overall - pretty nice wine with velvety structure, balanced and elegant to some extent. Suits roe deer sliced and cooked in onion sauce.
