The nose is dried cherry and strawberry, while the palate brings in raspberry, citrus and a hint of spice. The acidity is sharp at first and mellows with air. Tannins seem just right. The minerality is stony and slatey, different from the earthiness that I'm more familiar with from many Merlots. I like this kind of minerality better. This really good for cheese, I thought it was brilliant with a bite of Fourme d'Ambert.
