This wine is no less of an achievement, all things considered, than Produttori del Barbaresco's Barbaresco. It embodies everything I love about the Saar and about the basic wines of Germany; wines which are not terribly complex, but which nonetheless are possessed of very great purity. This is 8% alcohol, and per the Thiese catalog, about 10 g/L acid and 25 g/L rs, and at those numbers, its on the dry side of feinherb. Its got the citrus, the green, the slate, and the orchard. I would gladly drink this wine every day, as I did similar wines when I worked in the Saar.
