This blend is more like a superTuscan than your average Concord grape style, with thick chewy tannins and pepper clove spice flavors.

High alcohol - thin mouthfeel - young wine best on days 2/3 - low concentration throwing me off for Amarone

Current, blackberry with notes of clove and cinnamon on the nose. Blackberry, blueberry, current finishing with cherry, cocoa and mild oak. Slightly sweet, mildly tannic. It tastes like the roman empire and feels like a quintessential italian wine but it’s simply not nearly dry enough for me.

Full body. Smooth finish. Nice for sharing between a Cab and Pinot Noir lover.

Okay Amarone. Missing some of the dried grape flavor.

Hot on the nose (15% abv) and there is an over bearing odor of old on the verge of rotting fruit.
Terrible example of a DOCG Amarone.
This goes to show that DOCG may gaurantee genuineness but not quality.
Would not buy again at any price.

This wine is very good. Balanced and spicy. Nothing really sticks out except for the nice finish. 15% alcohol.
