Bright purple. A highly complex bouquet evokes ripe, oak-spiced dark berries, cherry preserves, licorice, vanilla and smoked meat. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering powerful, smoke-tinged cherry-vanilla, floral pastille and succulent herbs flavors that show a suave combination of richness and vivacity. Shows serious power on a long, sweet finish that's framed by chewy, slow-building tannins. This wine should age very slowly, and it strikes an intriguing balance of savory and fruity.
