Bright purple. A highly complex bouquet evokes ripe, oak-spiced dark berries, cherry preserves, licorice, vanilla and smoked meat. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering powerful, smoke-tinged cherry-vanilla, floral pastille and succulent herbs flavors that show a suave combination of richness and vivacity. Shows serious power on a long, sweet finish that's framed by chewy, slow-building tannins. This wine should age very slowly, and it strikes an intriguing balance of savory and fruity. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2021)

Candied orange/tangerine/lemon, lifted notes of spearmint and minerals. Not very fruity, full body, high tannin, medium plus acidity. Moderate staining and concentration.

Vines planted by the Jacobs Brothers on Jacobs Creek in 1847. Wow.

Opulent. Really amazing. Vines planted in 1847. Not my style, but I really appreciate this wine.
