Sasa Antonio (Tony Sasa)
VO Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend
A beautiful classic Amarone, and one of my favorites! VERY aromatic; tobacco, espresso, dried fruit and rosemary, and rose water on the nose, with a gorgeous spoonful of cherry cobbler, dried fig, vanilla spice, dried herbs, and a lingering spice on the finish. Drinks like an older vintage of Amarone used to with the rosemary notes, which is fantastic and unique for a very unique style of wine.

Jan 8th, 2016The Italians have done it again. This is my first Amarone!!!! Wow! I love it! The color is dark opaque like that of a rich California cab. The legs are thick and slow. The bouquet is dark berry pie and I swear there is almost a hint of celery in there. The initial palate is mildly tart with a blast of blackberry and boysenberry. This is followed by a very dry finish flooded with spice and licorice.
