Eben’s wines are always amazing. This was real tight & wound up upon open. This was leaps and bounds better on day 2. So much life left in this and just scratching the surface of what this can be.

Oct 21st, 2017Was very lucky to find this at Chapman's Peak in Cape Town. Due to interesting circumstances this was open for 5 hours or so before consumed. Would love to see how it evolved but time to open up was most certainly a good thing. Fresh strawberries, cherries and library on the nose. Cherry pie and some tart in palette. Nice tannic structure with clean acidity. Was expecting more dark brooding fruit given the Syrah and what I've come to know about SA wines but nonetheless a lovely wine that did not disappoint given the high expectations.
