Had many bottles of this RRV Zin and seems to keep getting better. One mistake was not letting it sit but will fix that with future bottles. Strong dark berry (blackberry), black and green pepper, spice mix, and more make this something that accentuates a dry rub for BBQ while also being an enjoyable sipping wine as well.

May 23rd, 2021Had with BBQ ribs. Sometimes strong fruit on the nose and palate just fits. Modest chalk flavor in mid palate, very slight spice, and smooth.

Would normally go a bit higher with this but struggling to see if this is at a point where it should age more or too old. After decanting almost an hour it started to reveal more flavors that had more earth tones, different from the strong berry flavors I have typically seen.

Another great RRV wine. Berry on the nose (hint of strawberry along with black berries), modest peppery mixed into the mid palate to finish, and just got better as the night wore on. A Zin is not my typical "sipping" wine but this went well with bbq pork and just watching a movie.
