Ripe Zinfandel fruit and noticeable red earth depth. At 12 years it has mellowed into a round and palate filling wine with more years of life. You never get a light weight Zinfandel from Monte Rosso. Great match with pasta, sausage, pesto and grated cheese. 🍷👍

Definitely fruity up front, but I didn't get fruit bomb, as the palate and finish were hot with high tannins and alcohol. This wine never really develops or settles down. Even after an hour+ of decanting. Not really my style but not disgusting.

Overly ripe plum, hot blackberry jam spread on toasted brioche, vanilla bean, grated nutmeg, Good and Plentys. Too sweet for me. Add some sparkling water and lime for a good sangria.
