This is my first South African Merlot.
Light ruby in color with a light purple rim.
Fruity on the nose with plums, metals, licorice, cherries, strawberries, wood, alcohol and black pepper.
Light to medium bodied with high acidity and nice legs.
Tart and fruity on the palate with cherries, sour strawberries, plums, red currants, oak, cloves and white pepper.
Medium finish with soft tannins, bitter almonds and spices.
This is an average red wine. Drinkable but simple. Better with food.
13.5% ABV.
