Renwood Winery
Niceforo Zinfandel
Not a bottle to drink on its own. Screams for a nice pairing to tone down green and pepper flavors. Not my favorite from Amador or this producer, but a solid Zin.

Mar 23rd, 2015Smooth, peppery in the front, fruity in the finish. Needs something with it.

Dec 24th, 2013Floral and pine aromas. Lively and tart red fruit with good balance and tannins that don't overwhelm at all. Good memories attached to this one!

Apr 24th, 2015Like a sweet carnival on the nose, playful, lively, and a sip is more a deep dive into a flimsy cedar box of ripe berries sitting on top fresh autumn hay. Structure reveals itself in the end that was lacking upon the first kiss. Something is missing, like fresh chives on eggs that give it that umph. The story finishes up front, where it began.
