There's something different about this grape that I can't put my finger on.

Red fruits like cherry and raspberries on the nose, a little bit of heat and some vanilla. There is a tiny bit of licorice lurking in the back too. The palate is well designed and quite charming : a strong acid backbone with nice fruity notes all along, some width with a soft mouthfeel, a nice matter, not too heavy, a dense mid palate with a strong tannic imprint disrupting the shape of the palate to make bigger, stronger and a somehow vertical, a long finish with a bit of heat going for a long way, with fruits, a tiny touch of salt and that tannic surface which stays until the very end. Not bad!
