Red Star Brand
Er Guo Tou Jiu Sorghum
China for a week means there's bound to be Baijiu. This particular bottle is as ubiquitous as Coke is in Beijing, especially the cool 100 ml bottles. If you didn't know better, you'd think you just bought a bottle of nail polish remover, or some industrial cleaner. Gosh! It burns and smells just like the aforementioned. Super raw, and to me, not much going on - especially compared to the other Baijiu's of the trip (and the venerable Maotai of course, which was my only experience with Baijiu before this). This is basically not for me, but Red Star's history is interesting and it's worth a try.
