Quinta da Pacheca
Reserva Vinhas Velhas Douro Red Blend
Interesting Douro. Deep ruby red. At first we detected ink and forest floor on the nose, then notes of roasted coffee beans, spices were present all the time. Interestingly not much of the wood was present on the nose and it was not fruity at all. Good soft tannin on the palate, acidity was a bit off and it had a weird bitter aftertaste that persisted above all else. We still enjoyed it very much.

Dec 27th, 2018Obviously a better wine than the Superior Red, still tastes too distant and uninvolved. Just not enough aromatic complexity and intensity to be considered a serious wine.

Sep 1st, 2018Easy drinking. Hint of earthiness but the rest is jammy and chocolaty.
