Plavac Hvar
Wine from Hvar, Croatia. (Delectable has it noted as Serbia as do some other reviewers--what am I missing?!?) Pasta dough dominates the nose and burns off a bit to reveal plum and dark fruit.

Mar 27th, 2017Plavac Mali from island of Hvar (Serbia). Light body akin to Pinot noir but it has a very smokey earthy dusky flavor. Note of bacon at the end. A total bargain at only $8 and a welcome change from fruit forward wines, this is well made old world wine. No weirdness just lots of character.
