Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2014 ‘Columbia Valley’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a fantastic new wine by proprietor Kyle MacLaughlin. Needing a one hour decant to fully develop, the wine shows off creme de cassis, Turkish coffee and smoked pork shoulder aromas. The palate is plush, showing a silky mouthfeel. Toasty oak wraps around black tea, blackberry pie and brandied black cherry flavors. Rich and decadent, this great Cabernet will cellar well for the next fifteen plus years.

I like that a lot.

Had to bring this to nodoguro twin peaks dinner. Pretty much tasted like the damn fine cherry dessert. Solid WA Cab.

Sweet granola on the nose, integrated oak and savory fruit on plate

Pairs nicely with the new Twin Peaks episodes. Nice wine agent Dale Cooper.

New Year’s Eve. Disappointing. Not sure if it’s a bad bottle or in a weird spot. Definitely drinking young, but very tart and light. Color was more Pinot than Cab.

This is, excuse me, a damn fine bottle of wine.

Worn leather, cigar smoke, and vanilla on the nose. Intense palate of overripe blackberry and cassis. Powerful but well integrated oak. Very long, complex finish.

Drank while watching a fan edit of Fire Walk With Me. Needs a solid decant.
