Tannins abound. Chocolate, cedar and raspberries. Still holds its own for a 2001. Not usually a merlot drinker but this bottle makes me rethink that.

We drank this wine because I was worried that it would be tired. Nothing could be further from the truth. Still mouth coating and a bit tannic- mountain fruit for sure. Currant and cigar box. Really good aged merlot.

My 10 years of patience finally paid off - big time! Deep garnet color with browning, sweet fruits, mocha, Chinese herbs to the nose, velvety, full body, long and spicy finish with firm tannins. Focus, still fresh, and elegant. Truly one of the best.
