The reviews mentioning smoke and bacon are spot on. It’s a bit different, but does not warrant some of the crazy low reviews, in my opinion. There is some complexity with bright red fruits, incense, cedar and some oaky creaminess near the finish. Medium tannins, medium body. A 95 rated wine, no. An 80 rated wine, no. 86* seems right, with the asterisk to denote that this wine has some unusual qualities that make it stand out from similarly rated wines.
