Purple red, moderately extracted pigment. A tad tart, red currant nose, plum with some cherry and red currant in mouth, needs food. Light skin astringency on finish. No tobacco box notes, so a subdued Malbec. Previous vintages have been better, to my reckoning. Still, decent value for a table red. After 90 minutes some raspberry creeps into the flavor profile. Still a tad too tart.

Aug 22nd, 2023Dense red in color. Mint, anise, white pepper and herb notes in nose. Raspberry candy, cocoa and wintergreen flavors, later cherry and cranberry. Seed bitterness in finish, followed by skin astringency on front of tongue. Nice flavor complexity and varietal expression at a great price.

Just opened tonight. Not sure tomorrow's taste will drastically improve. For the price, a nice red.
