One of the first wines I loved 20 years ago still tastes very good and is still a great value under $15. Tart, bright, black cherry and tar in the front, leather and powdery tannins in the middle, chocolate/coffee/almond and blackberry finish. At 13.5% ABV, this is an easy, food-friendly sipper.

Mar 20th, 2014The tannins are wound pretty tight but open up nicely after a few hours. On the nose there''s cherry and cola notes. Palate shows slight astringency with a touch of leather. Pair with blackened or BBQ foods.
