May 28th, 2016This stuff is black as the night. Okay, not quite — that could just be the dimly lit room I'm in. It does look like it might stain my glassware purple as I swirl it around.
On first whiff I detect deep black fruit and gunpowder. Deeper breaths reveal a hint of rubber band and leather.
Swirling it in my mouth and it takes a moment to come alive. When it does it is bright yet balanced. Not too fruity or too dry. Then a not-quite-peppery zing leads into a campfire finish (but no smokiness).
Despite my pontificating this has been tonight's first glass.
