Pro Corde Vranac
Lake Skadar Valley, Podgorica, MontenegroA decent red from Montenegro! Bold flavours, deep red fruits, hint of peppery spice, dryness to the finish. Would be interesting to age/aerate this better as bottom of bottle definitely got better (question if due to effect of alcohol on consumer or airing/opening time).

Wine from Montenegro? Who knew?! Solid easy drinking red, with black pepper spice and a hint of oak on the nose. Reminiscent of a Cab/Syrah blend.

Pretty well-made, juicy, lovely drinkable 100% Vranac, indigenous variety of former Yugoslavia states. 36yo vines. Macerated 10-12 days, spontaneous MLF, aged 2 years in 65/35 inox/oak.
Deep dark ruby, purple rim.
Pronounced berries (saskatoon, sour cherry, plum) aroma, crushed black pepper, wet fallen leaves, juniper & some meaty whiff.
Fruit-forward palate of medium body. Vivid acidity, bit coarse tannins. Wild cherry, black+red currant, blackthorn, blackberry, touch of herbs. Distinct proanthocyanidols)))
Pair: homemade lasagna
