Dense Ruby in colour. Even after 18 years the oak presence is like the aromas of newly sawn wood. Ripe plums with a pruney note. On the palate rich and full bodied with fluid smooth tannins finishing dry. Obviously the product of very old Shiraz vines in the Barossa sourced from growers who the original Peter Lehmann had a marvellous bond with for decades. This is Peter Lehmann’s flagship red from the cool 2002 vintage resulting in a long hang time and great flavours. A Barossa Icon.

Dense dark crimson - almost black. Ripe plum aromas with a touch of prune and coffee grounds. On the palate earthy plummy savoury Notes still with a solid core of fruit which will see this wine cruise past its 20th Birthday. A full bodied Barossa Shiraz from ultra ripe old vine fruit. No doubt plenty of Oak when this wine was made but now the oak has largely integrated with the ripe fruit so the balance was right in this cooler vintage. I need to drink these big reds in winter because they are hard work in an Australian summer.

Coffee Mocha and Blackberry notes. Medium plus intensity finishing with fine Tannins. One of the Barossa’s old vine icons - Stonewell. From the cooler slow ripening Top quality 2002 vintage. Travelling easily in its 16th year with a strong core which will ensure another 5 to 10 years but pretty compelling right now.
