Pennywise
California Petite Sirah

Inky violet. Dense purple fruit aroma. Fairly dense on the palate too--stewed prunes, black currant, and a hint of oregano in the background. Tannins are present but smooth, much like a Malbec. Really defined lingering taste of dark plum/prune that intensifies after some air time. This is unapologetic, and I find the intense prune strangely enticing, if not something I'd reach for every day.

2015v. Blackberry, leather, pepper, and leather all appear on the palette when you swish this wine around. Tannins are aged with just a touch of grip and cling to the mouth. Not a lot of acidity- which could be more approachable for some, but it makes the flavor profile a little flat. Easy drinking, overall. 13.5% ABV.
