Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend

Ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.

Fruity nose of black cherries, strawberries, raspberries, wood, licorice, earth, spices and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with sweet plums, cooked cherries, strawberries, raspberries, wood, licorice, vanilla, earth, espresso and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and pomegranates.

This is a nice Amarone, but not what one might expect from an Amarone. Not too big, with mostly red fruits and not tannic.

Enjoyable with mild complexity, but a little unbalanced. Nonetheless, it is tangy and tasty. A little over ripe, and might have been better a year or two ago.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses, nuts and dried fruits.

Trader Joe’s $19.99. Robust with a huge finish. Calls for grilled red meat.

Ruby coloration. Strong plum on the nose and palate. Rich, full body pretty devoid of tannins at this point.

One of the best wines I’ve ever drank. Amazing color and flavor profile. Well balanced and full bodied. And I found it at Trader Joe’s I think. Definitely will get several bottles for my cellar.

Ruby red, sharp bouquet.

Pears. Tart. Jammy raspberries. Ripe blackberries.

Good sweetness at the front, balanced with tartness with a dry tannic finish.

Such a great Trader Joe bottle for $20! Loved the warm vanilla and nutty flavor. Definitely a favorite

Nicely balanced. Earthy. Not spicy, but nice subtle flavor. 15% but doesn't taste like it.

Gift from Tim and Dave. Lush, velvety smooth, dark fruits. Bought it at Trader Joe's for $20. One of my all time favorites.
