Old Westminster Winery
Maryland Rosé Blend
Maryland, USA

2024. Finally got back to MD today and we’re able to finish off the five year vertical of OWW rosés we had in the fridge. Lighter in color and body but with effusive watermelon candy aromas.

2023. Nice acidity and tasty flavors, berries, watermelon rind, and some mineral. Right up there with 2022 for me and I enjoyed it more with a little age than as a taster at the winery when released.

2022. Still my favorite of the 2020-2022 OWW rosés. Combines the best of those two vintages. Next up are the 2023 and 2024…

2021. Lighter in color than the 2020 and more berry fruit flavor but not quite as refreshing.

2020. I put a five year vertical in my small wine fridge to encourage drinking them this summer. Well it’s almost the end of summer, so we better get to drinking! Held up really well and retained its nice tart fruit and acidity.

2020. Saw that the 2023 Rosé was in the latest Wine Club allocation, so I checked what vintages were still in the cellar and had two of the 2020’s, a 2021, and a 2022. Enjoying this 2020 to even things out. Perfect on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon.

2020. The oldest of the three vintages that I have in the house and different then the two following it. Has more tart cranberry and watermelon rind flavors than ripe strawberries. These flavors go great with a crostini lunch with farmer’s market spread of vegetables and cheeses!

2022. Had it at the winery when it was released on 5 March and was hoping to enjoy some all summer. Well, I probably shouldn’t have put the bottle I bought in the upstairs fridge instead of cellar. Getting another in this month’s allocation, but may need a few more. Goes great with the goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers and roasted olives I’m snacking on.
