A really good Yarra Valley Chardonnay - similar notes to recent tasting in June 2021. Leesy struck match notes with a combination of citrus and stone fruit on the palate. Skilfully made.

Smoky, savoury, and spicy nose, some oak and a leesy sulphidic note. On the palate mainly citrus but a little riper verging on to stone fruit. One of David Bicknell’s lesser Cuvées which I thought would be lean but not so. Coming together at 6 years of age. Drinking really well from one of Australia’s best Chardonnay exponents.

Good modern style. Stone fruits, grapefruit, some lemon and a little flinty minerality. It might have been the scorching hot day but I was hoping for a little more acidity. It was by no means flabby but it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping. Then again it might have been the fact the glass was warming up way too fast in the heat.
