Nice Zinfandel. Good structure with moderate tannins. ABV at 14.4% which isn't unusual for a Zin. A hearty pasta dish such as lasagne, or (as we had) chicken parm would be a nice counter-balance to the heat. Tons of black fruit on the palate. One I would definitely have again!

This is the 2011 Old Vines Cuvée Mendocino Zinfandel. Nice wine showing lots of spice in its cool climate way. It fills up and darkens up with air eventually showing black fruit and licorice on the palate. Balanced.
