88/12 blend of Barbera and Zinfandel. 151 cases made. Purple red, very good clarity, high pigment extraction. Cherry berry aromas. Cherry and tutti frutti flavors on initial pour, tight acidity, not quite puckery, slightly milky finish. Needs time to open. Some mint emerges on the finish, and acidity softens. Still some tannin texture in the mouth. Not highly complex, but reflective both of variety and terroir. Winery website notes blackberry (Zin) and plum (Barbera) flavors. These flavors really emerge after two hours, alongside the cherry core. Fine grained skin astringency remains, but pleasantly so. Decant.
