Kuroushi (黒牛) Junmai Ginjo

Brewery: Nate Shuzoten, Kainan, Wakayama, Japan
Classification: Junmai Ginjo
Rice: Yamada Nishiki
Polishing: 50%
ABV: 16.5%
SMV: +3
Acidity: 1.6

Brewer description: A fuller expression of Kuroushi with restrained ginjo aromatics, substantial rice umami and balanced acidity. Smooth and food-oriented rather than overtly aromatic or sweet.

Tasted at Sake Day SF — 9/26/2026. Rating is limited since the same glass was reused throughout the tasting, making it difficult to get a truly clean tasting and accurate read on the aromas.

Okay and drinkable, but not restaurant quality for me.
