Morandé
House of Morandé Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
Dark ruby in color with a short brick rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black currants, sweet plums, sweet cherries, vanilla, light wood, spices, dirt, vinaigrette, chocolates, coffee, alcohol, graphite and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, cherries, sweet strawberries, earth, vanilla, light oak, coffee, pencil lead, river rocks, spices and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with tangy cranberries and very soft tannins.
This great 8 year old Bordeaux Blend from Chile is still drinking nicely. Showing nice complexity with a soft and smooth mouthfeel and a tangy ending that makes it interesting.
Was probably better a couple of years ago, but now it is more interesting. Good by itself or with food.
Needs an hour in the decanter to open up properly and remove some of the acidity.
A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Carignan, 5% Syrah and 3% Carmenere. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
14% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$35.
