King Thranduil of Mirkwood, the Wood Elves' king, liked his wine from Dorwinion. His wine was also imported by the Elves of Mirkwood in barrels down the Forest River from Long lake.

Cola, black cherry, plum and black pepper on a soft nose. Medium weight with red cherry fruit, pepper and clove. Noticeable tannin, a little heat, and not the longest finish. Solid effort. Food wine - we paired with grilled chicken.

A good, sweet fruits and citrus, easy sipping, earl grey on the nose, Pinot from the land of the hobbits.
