Aug 25th, 2016Dark inky in color with a purple rim.
Light nose of blackberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, leather, earth, coffee, chocolates, mocha, peppercorn and spices.
Full bodied, bold, jammy and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, figs, raisins, plums, cherry pie, cloves, oak, vanilla, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and even more peppercorn.
A great vintage of this wonderful Zinfandel. I always liked this outfit. Nicely balanced and enjoyable by itself. Goes nicely with Grilled meats too. Peppery and spicy, Interesting and Complex.
Needs an hour to open up, but Good out of the bottle too. However, the complexity comes in after a while.
A High alcohol red wine, but I can't really feel it.
15% alcohol by volume.

Dark ruby in color with a gentle red rim.
Fruity and smoky on the nose with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, figs, tobacco, cedar, vanilla, sweet cherries, eucalyptus, bacon and black pepper.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant with high acidity and nice legs.
Fruit forward on the palate with sweet cherries, blackberries, bacon, oak, liquorice, vanilla, spices and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with soft, round tannins and black pepper.
A nice Zinfandel, very enjoyable sipping wine by itself or as I Paired it With hard cheeses. Needs 2 hours in a decanter to fully form.

Dark inky in color with a purplish rim.
Funky nose of blackberries, blueberries, figs, cloves, licorice, oak, heavy vanilla and black pepper.
Medium to full-bodied with a harsh mouthful.
Fruity on the palate with oak, vanilla, blackberries, sour cherries, raspberries, licorice, vanilla, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Medium finish in length, with round tannins.
This is not as good as the 2011 vintage. Not balanced and somewhat bitter and sour. It might need some time in the bottle.
