Who ever said it wasn’t Rose season? This is a truly gratifying, rich Rose made from Columbia Valley Cabernet Franc grapes. The 2018 Matthews Rose is another beautiful new wine by the talented Aryn Morell. The wine opens with a bright bouquet of red cherry, ripe kiwi, guava and suggestions of wild mushroom. The palate reveals a kiss of sweetness and a wonderfully soft texture. Red currant jelly, ripe strawberry and cran-orange flavors round out this awesome new Rose. Drink 2019-2025- 92

A great rose for a typical red drinker as it has more complexity than others with a hint of spice, in a good way. Easily one of my favorite roses!

If you’ve had the Matthews 2019 Rose, think lighter, watermelon rind, and slightly more floral than the ‘19. This is another excellent Rose from Matthews that is perfect for drinking in the sun.

Jul 22nd, 2021Nothing Matthews puts out is sweet, and this is no different. Light notes of strawberry and floral fruitiness, but not overpowering. If possible let it breathe for 15 minutes while still keeping it chilled. Perfect for a hot day.

This is a year round favorite for me! Strong notes of strawberry and vanilla. The medium body pairs equally well to a meal as it does to drinking on the patio in the sunshine. I find this rosé ages very well, planning on hiding a bottle away for Thanksgiving!
