Garnet colored fading slightly to brick around the meniscus, the wine offers an earthy nose of tobacco, horse blanket, earth, smoke, leather, and gobs of black pepper. The earthiness recedes a bit on the palate in favor of dark but restrained berry fruit and lots of black pepper in the finish. A delightful mature Rhône.

As much as anyone can ask from a wine. Dark, ripe red plums - slight fattiness - pepper all perfectly blended. Big fruit, but medium body wine. Modest but seductive.

Rich and hedonistic in All the right ways. Aromas exploded out of the glass. Flowers, blood, meat, campfire embers, cigar smoke. Complete package.
