Les Loges Pouilly-Fumé

Another Wednesday Wine Committee for the books, this one in honor of a former WWC member, with the wines donates from his cellar by his family. A wonderful tribute. Wines tasted blind as usual.

I was way off here. Bone dry. I guessed Alsatian Pinot Gris, but the nose was definitely not Alsatian (should have been my first clue!). Minerality, steely, and sea salt.

Omakase magnum!

Minerals and a little sour on the finish.

This is singular barrel fermented SB. Turning into a reference point in the cellar. To be complex and glou? That's where it's at.

This was zesty with lemon 🍋 Lime fruits!

Need to find a way to get this Sauvignon Blanc on tap.

Best pizza. Best wine. Don't come to PDX and sleep on this.

Total revelation. Barrel fermented. Definitely in the influence catagory.

Far more complex than typical SB or Pouilly Fume. Age making it do some fun things.
