Consistently impressed by Lioco. Watermelon rind, fresh lemon, chopped herbs. Grapefruit and smooth river rocks. The rosé and their unoaked chard are great spring/summer staples ~$20

light orange; pink grapefruit, strawberry, blood orange, rhubarb; pink grapefruit, watermelon, very mineral; light bodied, dry, high acidity, 12.8% ABV; sourced from dry-farmed, head-trained Carignan planted mid-century in red clay soil strewn with fist sized rocks; fruit was hand-harvested, berries purposely “broken”, then whole-cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel until dry, slow malolactic fermentation; super fresh and appealing rosé; $22

Eh, can’t give it raves, can’t say it’s not great. As a refreshing rosé with a friendly bite it’s a win: high acid, medium body, somewhere between tropical fruit punch (pineapple, guava) plus some berries and candied strawberries. It’s good but I’ve had better which perhaps why it was a Garagiste mystery selection. I’ve had some good mystery wines but this one...well not good for a wine asshole like me but good. Just boring.

Fruit and spice, very dry with bright acidity. From old vine carignan, which makes "wine of intrigue" according to the back label. Me likey.

Little funk right when you open it. Very overripe- almost fuzzy strawberry, underripe lemon, wet cave, and old dried up herbs. I know it sounds less than ideal when you break it down - but I like it! Give it some time to open up and the fruit will show you more, with some solid acidity too boot! 😉
