Les Côtes d'Olt
Cahors Malbec Blend
Simply because it comes from a part of the French countryside that puts a big smile on my face, I gladly bought this Malbec that tastes like salad. A couple summers ago, I passed a week where time stood still in the yellow sunflower-strewn hills of Cahors--and came away with a case of Malbecs that could heat a chalet in the Alps without a match. This lightly peppered celery-flavored appetizer wine seems lost in place...but it's from such a magical spot that I'm still smiling. Did go well with a salad. ;)
