Annual guys WTF Christmas party with spouses. Lots of great wine. I’ll post my highlights with pics I got.

6L of champagne! Pouring this thing was crazy. A very classic and down the middle champagne that is normally consistent. Bright stone fruits on the nose with creamy caramel dipped Granny Smith apple slices. Chalky limestone notes on the palate with powdered lemon bar sweetness at the finish.

Tasted again! A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier, from several vintages. An updated offering with a nice fresh and crisp style. Pale gold with aromas of citrus and floral. On the palate crisp and dry with apples and lemon notes, savory and complex. Lingering ending with a bit of biscuit character. Very nice!

Weekly Wednesday wine committee. This week we had 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 3 reds, 1 dessert. All tasted blind as normal.

Sorry for the generic pic...didn’t snap a picture of the bottle after lunch. Bit of variation with this today...some people experienced bubbles all day, others were a bit flat. For me, it was more of the former. Faint in color, but the bubbles and palate were very reminiscent of L’Ermitage from Roederer Estate...but the crisp chalk never gave way to bruised apple/pear like many west coast sparklers.

Laurent-Perrier has been creating Champagnes for nearly two hundred years. Light Golden yellow with a bouquet of stone fruits with citrus notes and yeasty tones. Plenty of bubbles dancing in the flute. Crisp and fresh, mineral, white flesh fruit, citrus well balanced with acidity. Lingering finish with zesty ending. Nice.

Sunday night having the Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne Maison Fondee 1812. No occasion just enjoying a Champagne Apertief.

The nose gives you lemon, green apple, creme brulee, creamy light vanilla, minerality and river rock.

On the palate I have lemon lime, citrus peel, green apples, toasty bread and an earthy minerality.

There is a high acidity with a crisp clean long finish. A very nice champagne for the price.

Have a wonderful work week. Mine will be a short one. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🖒
