I've not had a ton of Cali mabecs (this is 73%). Riiiipe. Bordering on too much but I find myself enjoying this quite a bit. Grippy without being too angular. Juicy and fruity but some complexity too.

Well, it's a Malbec. Not quite fair for me to rate since I don't care for them but I had some chocolate and this was the suggested pairing. I can see why a Malbec would be paired with chocolate. The high tannins make the chocolate less sweet and bring out the cacao! Dark cherry undertones here's with an overall smooth and mellow encasing.

Better on day 2 but good none the less. I think 2012 will be a wonderful year for this wine. This wine is not your typical Malbec.
